We have one hell of an episode for you today!
In this week’s episode, I sit down with someone who, to look at, you’d think is any average human going about their everyday life. However, he has a very unique and special story to tell.
Luke Goodge, now officially an Iron Man, was once an addict, addicted to alcohol mainly but also tried to kill himself with a fatal dose of heroin and in this podcast, Luke talks about the story that got him to alcoholism.
In his first-ever interview, Luke talks about the struggle and power of addiction and how it nearly ended his life on multiple occasions. Until one day, after a hit of heroin and the lowest of lows he’d ever experienced, he’d prayed for his father’s help (who also died from alcoholism) to help him find a way.
And that was it. After 7 attempts, Luke could say no more. Luke went on to run 1km every month. He’s been sober, and yesterday completed the Iron Man competition.
For those thinking, what can I learn from this episode? It’s one of learning, heart ache, determination, positivity and constant hard work. Well done Luke, I’m proud of you, this was one of the most inspiring episodes I’ve ever recorded. I hope you enjoy listening and as always, show some love and subscribe to the page!
