It was first named named Sober January 1942 during the war effort. The term “Dry January” was registered by the charity Alcohol Concern as a trademark in mid-2014; the first ever Dry January campaign by Alcohol Concern occurred ithink in January 2013. So guys basically it’s 30 day period starting on the first day if january up until the last day, where the participants vow not to drink for the whole month of january and raises money for charity. You don’t have to raise money for charity but I will leave the link below if you would like to do so. If you have someone who is struggling with alcoholism in the family and you want to help them, then this is the perfect opportunity to do so without forcing it upon them. alcoholism and sobriety is a hard nut to crack so use this opportunity to give yourself that head start in dealing with this alcoholism addiction.
Dry january helps a lot of people get of alcohol altogether, if you are a problem drinker or not. This helps alcoholics get through this first week of sobriety without being bombarded by friends, family and and alcohol temptation that surrounds everyday. If you are that person who always says i want to stop drinking alcohol forever. Then this is the perfect opportunity for you to start this. To the guy who only drinks 2 cans of beer every night, consider trying the dry January as this will show you that you don’t need them 2 cans every night, and also to show you they serving no real purpose to you life or your health. Really think about it, how much money you would have without having all them cans every month. Use this time to show everyone i can do dry january and beat my causal alcoholism. This is all t encourage you to take a break from alcohol and be sober for January 2019.
