Alcohol related admissions to hospital in the East Midlands has risen by 30 per cent in five years. At the same time, John Mann’s own report into drink and drugs in Bassetlaw has found that alcohol is a much bigger problem than heroin. We’ll be hearing from a liver specialist at Derby Royal on how the people having drink problems is changing and speaking to a Chesterfield-based charity which says improvements in treatment in Derbyshire are beginning to work.
