Tragedy struck the Huang family during this year’s Chinese New Year holiday. Tragically, the new year’s eve celebration and drinking binge resulted in tragedy.
Mr. Huang, his wife, and their nine month old baby boy were visiting his parents during the holiday. Mr. Huang had a few drinks but must’ve seemed sober enough to drive.
Unfortunately, on their way home their car drifted into the shoulder just before a bridge and then smashed head on into the bridge guard. Mr. Huang, who wasn’t wearing his seatbelt, was killed on impact, his wife partially flew through the windshield and died minutes later as she bled out. Their nine month old son, who was cradled in his mother’s arms, was launched through the shattered windshield and fell over the bridge into the mud along the bank of the river.
Mr. Huang’s parents tearfully explained that this was the second son they’d lost to a traffic accident. Less than ten years earlier their eldest son had died when he struck a tree late at night.
The elderly couple never thought that a similar fate awaited their second son.
