(CNN)Actor Simon Pegg is in a healthy state of mind as he promotes the latest installment of the “Mission: Impossible” franchise, but just a few years ago, he was living a much different reality, he revealed in a new interview. Pegg, who has played field agent Benji Dunn since the third film, opened up about his battle with depression and alcoholism in a new interview with the UK’s Guardian. Pegg, who is also known for his cult zombie film “Shaun of the Dead,” said his “crisis years” were marked by a dependence on alcohol to numb feelings of sadness.
