These 96% Vodka filled colorful and crystal-like capsules are said to be the main reason why a dozen of female university students passed out on Shinjuku streets in Tokyo in June after a drinking party.
It’s said to be the latest invention for guys to ‘pick up’ girls at nightclubs. But when I say pick up girls, I mean it literally.
Taiwan’s Apple Daily reporters paid a visit to a prison-themed restaurant ‘the Lockup’ in Shinjuku, where allegedly was selling the 96% Vodka filled capsules and where a group of 35 university students allegedly gathered for a drinking night. Japanese netizens said this might be what happened to those intoxicated students.
One of the reporters took three and she said it felt just like a bomb exploded inside her body, causing dizziness and heat.
While the reporters took these capsules to some nightclubs in Taipei for street survey, they are shocking found that more than half of the 60 female survey interviewees felt like trying them!
A gastroenterologist, Wang Zhi-tang, pointed out that the consumption of these capsules may have the risk of alcoholic poisoning.
Victor, a bar manager who has experience of fire breathing, said if you have the 75% alcohol in your mouth a bit longer, you will feel the strong sense of erosion on the tissue of oral mucosa. A bartender doesn’t really use this pain on his face, but in fact, it’s extremely painful.
