But quite a few of them like to get completely hammered.
Binge drinking is when men drink five or more drinks (women four or more drinks) in two hours.
And unfortunately, these binge-drinking sessions arenāt as āevery once in a whileā as weād like.
New research shows that nearly 20 percent of all US adults participate in binge-drinking.
That boils down to about 470 binge drinks, per binge drinker, annually.
Alcohol kills about 88,000 people annually in the US.
Of those deaths, half can be attributed to binge drinking.
