A Vermont mother and her boyfriend are being accused of killing a special needs boy. 13-year-old Isaac Robitille passed away on August 22nd.

An autopsy showed his blood alcohol concentration had been 0.146 percent which is almost double the legal driving limit for an adult.

The cause of death is listed as a brain abnormarlity.

Isaac spent his days confined to a wheelchair due to medical issues and disabilities. He was placed on a strict eating schedule and had been required to use feeding and intravenous tubes.

Investigators say the couple was drinking that night and that’s when they added alcohol to the boy’s IV bag.

Melissa Robitille and Walter Richters III were arrested and charged with second degree murder and are being held in prison without bail. The couple has pleaded not guilty.
