How can equine-assisted therapy be used in drug rehab and alcohol rehab?

Since communication between horse and patient is completely non-verbal, patients receive real-time feedback via body language on the impact of their emotional state and how it affects the creatures around them. For those struggling with addiction, this kind of recognition can be a vital stepping stone towards recovery.

“Modalities” is a new digital series from the Addiction Campuses Network. The series was created by Emmy-nominated producers Erin Dineen, Cameron McCasland and Josh Ickes for Addiction Campuses in Nashville, Tennessee.

“Modalities: Music Therapy” received a 2018 Gold award from Hermes Creative Awards.

“Modalities” sets out to feature various treatment methods utilized in treating drug and alcohol addiction. Recovery is a personal journey; not one modality works for every person. The mission of “Modalities” is to show that rehab and recovery are possible through unexpected and engaging methods.
