Recently I ended 5 months of sobriety in an effort to pursue moderation with alcohol. Many disapproved of this decision. I go deeper into my reasons for this, and also discuss managing addiction, social environments and interactions, and trying to exercise self control. Turns out you have to practice self control to get better at it. I address a few comments as well and give thoughts on depression, anxiety and dopamine. I talk about some past struggles with alcohol and depression, and also efforts with therapy.
I could consume 20 to 60g of alcohol per week with no impact on mortality according to this study…
