Alcohol is one of many types of addiction, which all have their roots in genetics, culture, stress, and trauma. However, alcohol in particular has a host of health-related concerns that most people don’t know about and which can inform their decision-making around their addiction and seeking treatment. I’d like to talk a little about my story and the research, connections to trauma, and health issues involved. Then I’d like to discuss how my work is expanding to include education and therapeutic assistance in multiple modalities that can help people reduce or quit their addictions.
