Friends,
This video took some long and hard thought on whether I was even going to make it or not. I struggled with: whether I would be judged, or distanced, or worse off then I am now; ultimately it was my decision and I wanted to put my struggle out there to hopefully help another and shed some light on the struggle and stigma of addiction and mental health.
This video has been WAY too long in the making. I am no longer afraid to say that I have a problem with alcohol; this is not a cry for help, or a pity seeking video, but it’s me being ready, open, and willing to conquer this addiction and begin a new chapter in my life.
If you or anyone you know are struggling with addiction, please feel free to share this video and let them know that they’re not alone, it can get better, and they do not need to battle their addiction alone (if they’re ready for help).
