Meet Danay, a woman formally battling alcholism creates ‘Sober Girls Houston’ to help others live sober. After a decade of abusing drugs and alcohol, the pandemic gave her time to address her mental health and substance abuse issues.
Now, two years sober, Danay has created Sober Girls Houston, a support group for women who want to enjoy activities without it being alcohol-centered. A safe space to have fun, share their experiences and uplift each other. Danay’s journey in recovery was plagued with excessive drinking and shame of mental health issues. She started therapy and invested in real self-discovery; Even with her struggles, she always found her stability, thanks to the support of friends, family, and a sober circle.
