Tyrosine is an amino acid that offers some wonderful health benefits that most Americans are completely unaware about. Our current American diets are woefully deficient in the necessary materials that our bodies need for proper mental and physical functioning. We spend decades of our lives depriving our bodies of what it needs to function properly, so it’s no surprise when there’s an explosion of mental illness. But the worst part is that it’s just accepted as normal. It’s the frog in the pan of water. Conditions have slowly degenerated over the generations and we’ve just accepted it as fact. It’s just the natural course of things. We say “well, depression is just ‘normal’…mental illness is just part of life.” Actually it’s not ‘normal’. Depression is not ‘normal’ and it’s certainly not something you have to just accept as a part of your life.
But all is not lost. You don’t have to just accept your fate as unchanging. There are things you can do to help yourself.
Tyrosine is one such piece of the puzzle in terms of healing ourselves and achieving peak mental and physical functioning.
Tyrosine can benefit depression through the production of the neurotransmitters epinephrine, norepinephrine, dopamine and serotonin.
Tyrosine can improve skin beauty. This is achieved through improved thyroid function because tyrosine increases production of thyroxine, a hormone produced by the thyroid gland.
It can benefit people with attention deficit disorder due at least in part to the increase in norepinephrine, which is highly involved in mental concentration. Plus, it can also benefit people with ADD and ADHD who are currently on amphetamine based medications like Adderall and Vyvanse. Taking those medications can deplete the valuable materials needed to make neurotransmitters like dopamine and norepinephrine and supplementing with tyrosine replenishes those reserves and increases the efficacy of medications and works to prevent tolerance.
Tyrosine can also increase metabolic rate, which can lead to improved energy levels and greater fat loss.
