A recent study by the University of Twente indicates that Dutch youngsters can easily get their hands on alcohol, even when they are under the legal drinking age of 16. Nevertheless, there is not enough support in parliament to raise the drinking age to 18, eventhough it could help prevent situations like the one Jacqueline Bos faced when her 15-year old daughter drank herself into a coma.
