Daily Recovery—-3-1-19—-169 Days Sober

What is my purpose post recovery?

In todays video I share a story about my rehab alumni group that I attend each week. It is part of the many things I do to try and stay engaged and reach out and help other struggling addicts and alcoholics in recovery. Last night was extremely special however because of some of the conversations and questions that were asked.

One question was from someone who has been in rehab a few times and is finding it hard to find his way in his recovery… he expressed the fact that he does not know his purpose. He has clinically died and had to be revived multiple times… he keeps going round and round in the cycle of addiction and everytime he is clean he cannot pinpoint what he is supposed to do with his life.

I offered advise that seemed to be well received both by him and many others in the room at the time..make helping the next person your purpose. The job, the family, the money etc will all come in time but right here and now share your experience. We individuals in recovery battle a disease each and everyday that we have survived for now. Many people do not make it through alive and healthy. We can have a direct influence on their lives.

We are not business men…but we can tell someone else how to keep their job.
We are not lawyers… but can maybe help keep someone else out of jail.
We are not doctors… but maybe we can save a life.

Love you Guys- Stay Sober Keep Moving Forward.

This channel was designed to follow my journey after I discovered how to stop drinking and successfully stay sober each day. Early sobriety can sometimes be hard to go at alone. Since then I have learned the value of community as I reach out to help and reach out for help and encourage others to quit drinking and stop drug use. After coming out of rehab many guys from the rehabilitation center have already relapsed but yet immediately jumped back on the sober life. We encourage each other and continue to try and spread the message and help others figure out how to stop drinking and stop alcohol abuse and chemical dependence. Other guys have been helping by sharing their own stories of experience strength and hope and how their life after addiction has changed them. Some are overcoming legal and health problems. The simple point is that if we do not do what we can to make an impact and try to stop drinking and slow down addiction than it will continue to lead to arrests and deaths. The opiate, opioid, heroin and other drug epidemics are claiming lives both of the addicts themselves and the destruction of those around them. I am glad that I learned how to stop alcohol abuse and hopefully will continue to stay sober and live a happy and healthy life in sobriety. My friends and are are very passionate about heloing others so that they do not have to go down the same roads as we have in our addictions and abuse. Together we can learn how to stop drinking alcohol and continue to stay sober. Passing on the message of alcoholism and getting sober is important to our own sobriety. Welcome to daily recovery.

Starting with the new year I have decided to upload the Daily Reflections and Just for Today reading each day. For those interested in the readings and do not have access to the books- you can download them on apps on your phone or check with the channel everyday for the latest reading or go back to an earlier date.

Just for Today is Narcotics Anonymous daily motivation and prayers book while Daily Reflections follows Alcoholics Anonymous.

I hope you guys enjoy the readings each day and check out the daily vlog and other videos about sobriety and recovery. The daily reflections and just for today passages may carry a religious message but even if you do not embrace that, keep in mind they also carry a good message about sobriety. Whether it is drugs or alcohol that you are addicted to both books have inspiring and motivational passages.

Stay Sober and Keep Moving Forward.
