Senior study author Dr. Michael P. Bogenschutz discusses the clinical trial, which found that two doses of psilocybin—a compound found in psychedelic mushrooms—reduces heavy drinking by 83 percent on average among drinkers with alcohol use disorder, or AUD, when combined with psychotherapy.
